Yeah, bad joke for those 'in the know'. But it's good news. Zendir has reached over 1,000 downloads - 1,100 to be precise. This wouldn't have been possible without the help of musicians (who people said the music from was lovely!) and other custom resource-makers, all of which are listed in the credits. Zendir is...
... for those who don't know, an epic fantasy RPG. It's based on the journey of a girl called Zaphilia. It starts off with the notion of poisoned water destroying the crops of her island, forcing the residents to leave. Once she reaches the mainland known as Zendir however things begin to take a turn for the worse, and there is far more to the poisoned water than appears at first... And thus, begins the story!
The game took me 30 days to make, slaving for many hours on end at the computer. It was laborious, but very enjoyable. I am now working on the second game of the series - Zendir 2: A World Reborn. In A World Reborn, a wedding takes place but this is interrupted by the appearance of a demon, who takes Zane away. In pursuit of Zane, Zaphilia chases the demon, but ends up being warped to the past when confronting it. Now on unfamiliar ground, Zaphilia must muster her strength to discover what occured in Zendir's past to cause them to hate magic, turn back the hands of time and prevent the future from ever happening. But how easy is this when a fine line exists between fixing the future and ensuring she'd never been born...?
The idea for Zendir came to me when I was writing my story, Firelight. However, I ended up feeling that a 50,000 word venture was a bit too much for a first novel, and besides, people wanted something interactive these days, especially the younger demographic. Therefore, I decided to make a 2-hour-long fantasy RPG to sate both sides of the crowd.
The ETA for Zendir 2 is Spring 2013.
